MP3s

Night Chorale Commissioned and performed by the Musselman Middle School Wind Ensemble. I also did a longer version that contains more development. (Mr Shelly, if you don't want this posted here, just e-mail me and let me know.)

March of the Fat Women from Revenge of the Fat Women.

Piso Mojado from Sam Gets a Job.

I. Sandy from Six Months at Seven-Eleven. This performance isn't perfect, but it's good enough to give you an idea of what the whole piece is like.

Ode to MacGamut. This track goes out to anybody who has ever used MacGamut ear training software. And yes, I achieved mastery on ALL levels.

Video Game: 1. Title Screen 2. Run, Jump, Shoot 3. Love Interest 4. Final Battle 5. The End (Thanks for Playing!) Digital Arrangement 1. Title Screen This was my attempt at writing music in the style of the classic NES game composers. I intend on arranging in for concert band at some point.

The following three pieces are from my senior euphonium recital. You can tell I'm not a performance major. Oh well...

Euphonic Sounds By Scott Joplin, arranged by Peter Hopkins.

The Slightly Magical Euphonium Part 1 Part 2 Part 3

Call Me, Beep Me by Cory Lerios and George Gabriel, arranged by Peter Hopkins. Just in case you didn't know, this is the theme song to Kim Possible. It was my encore.

Beebop & Scattered Jazz The lyrics to this song were written by my friend Courtney Bell. She was kind of a hippie.

Hope Dance These are two movements from a piece I wrote called Frontier Suite. I'd like to flesh it out a lot more in the future.

Fugue in C Major Fugue in C Minor These are the first two Fugues in a set of 24 (one for every major and minor key) that I hope to complete one day. I tried to follow all rules of Baroque voice leading and counterpoint as perfectly as I could. The Fugue in C Minor was chosen for the 2004 Shepherd University Honors Recital. Both are played here by the Mecklenberg Brass Quintet.

The Music from Metroid Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 This was a project that I did for my orchestration lessons. I had to cut out a lot of it, including Ridley and Tourian, in order to get it under the 7 minute time limit imposed on me. Played by the Shepherd University Wind Symphony, conducted by my friend (and fellow Metroid fan) Michael Pettry. Original music by Hirokazu 'Hip' Tanaka. (c) Nintendo.

Wedding Processional A friend of mine asked me to arrange the music for her sister's wedding. She wanted all music from Star Wars and Star Trek, arranged for flute, oboe, and clarinet. This is when the bride's maids and bride are walking down the aisle. (This isn't a joke--it's for real.) Original music by John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith.

The Journey: from Symphony no. 1 This is the abridged first movement of my First Symphony. It tied for first place in the 2002 Shepherd College Composition Contest. Played by the Masterworks Orchestra.

Holiday Music for Chamber Orchestra The Shepherd University Chamber Orchestra asked me to arrange some Christmas music for them. I had the idea to arrange secular Christmas songs like Klezmer music, and, well, this is the result. Original music by Johnny Marks, J. Fred Coots, and Haven Gillespie.

Selections from Graystone: Graystone is a musical (or rock opera, heck, I'm not even sure what to call it) that I wrote through high school and college. These recordings are from Graystone in Concert, which was the non-staged premier of the musical. For more on Graystone, go here.

Aliens Eradicated K-Mart Part 1 Part 2 Pretty self-explanatory.

Shotgun Sam He's the town oddball, and that's saying a lot in a town like this.

You Could Be a Superstar Lester tempts Sam with promises of fame and fortune...for a price.

Tall Jerry He's an 8 foot tall mechanic, with a temper.

Suzanne She's got troubles, but Jerry loves her, and that's what counts.

Tipsy the Gypsie Part 1 Part 2 Everybody's favorite alcoholic kleptomaniac fortune teller.

Shoobie Doobie Doo The King sings about what his fate will be if he isn't rescued from the Evil Lunch Ladies soon.

Billy Billy Doggy Boy This is when all the other students are making fun of Billy, who is half boy, half dog.

I Wish I Could Be a Hero Billy sings about how he wishes he could be more than he is.

You Can See Right Through Me Suzanne has a bad day, and Jerry comforts her. Aaawww.

Graystone Mrs. Pindershoop sings about the town while distracting Sheriff Brownie for Sam, Jerry, and Billy.

Jailbreak Sam, Jerry, and Billy break The King out of his cage, Mission Impossible style.

Shotgun Sam (reprise) Sheriff Brownie admits that maybe Sam isn't as bad as he thought.

As the Story Goes (reprise) It doesn't make any sense to me, and I wrote it.
